Somalia: Puntland Government Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attack on Shopping Mall in Nairobi
PRESS RELEASE 22 September 2013 Puntland Government strongly condemns the heinous and ruthless attack by Al Shabaab terrorist group on civilians shopping at Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya. The people and Government of Puntland send heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of the Republic of Kenya.
Puntland President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamud (Farole) sent a letter of condolence to Kenya, expressing Puntland State’s strong condemnation of terrorism and sharing condolences and solidarity with Kenya and its President H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, in the fight against terrorism and the noble efforts to restore stability in Somalia.
“The attack is indicative that the threat of terrorism recognizes no national boundaries and underlines seriousness of the shared threat of terrorism in our region,” wrote President Farole. The aspiration of Puntland and the Somali people is to overcome security challenges and to achieve lasting peace, stability and progress in Somalia.
